What is Vision India Research Centre

Vision India Research Centre (VIRC) is a non-profit and non-government organization established under the Bharti Education and Development Society, Delhi (www.bhartisociety.org) which is registered with the Registrar of Societies, Delhi under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 vide registration no. S-24698 dated 24.08.1993. The VIRC is a ‘Think Tank’ dedicated to research and studies to explore constructive and practicable solutions to contemporary problems with futuristic approach. It provides a platform for eminent personalities, bureaucrats, academicians, professionals, journalists, social activists, students, upcoming intellectuals and enthusiastic men and women of all walks of life to come together, discuss and debate various issues pertaining to social, educational, economic and political development of India.

Vision and Mission

The VIRC has a vision of a peaceful, progressive and harmonious society in India based on equitable and democratic principles as dreamed of by the framers of the Constitution.    It is of the view that at the time of independence, with rich cultural heritage Indian society also inherited evils of communalism, social inequality and gender discriminations. It believes that political democracy and economic development are not going to make India great as long as it suffers from these evils. Therefore, it emphasizes the need to follow the aims and objects of the Constitution of India as enshrined in the Preamble in letter and spirit.

The mission of the VIRC is to contribute through research, publications, debates and other such means for removing social evils and strengthening of democratic institutions.  It shall endeavour to find out how and why India suffered in the past and  what problems  India is facing at present, and to offer constructive suggestions for formulating, implementing and revising various policies, schemes and programmes of government and non-government organisations to make India a better democracy and  harmonious society.
